Bed and Breakfast Spanish Pyrenees

The Farmhouse

Casa Allué, is our Bed and Breakfast Spanish Pyrenees. A 17th century farmhouse located in the small hamlet of Albella, within the Pyrenees Geopark and close to the National Park of Ordesa and the Natural Park of Sierra de Guara. Also the base for all our Special Interest Holidays and Activity Holidays.

Over the past 4 years our farmhouse has been restored with great care and love, always respecting the traditional architecture of the area. With the renovation complete it is an exceptional place to stay.

We are Simon and Lucy, your hosts, and it has been our labour of love that has transformed this home.

"Casa Allue is a beautifully restored 17th century farmhouse with the perfect balance of creature comforts but retaining a real old world feel. Hot showers, comfortable beds, good heating, relaxing lounge, well stocked bookshelves and WiFi were all present and correct."

Steve. Manchester Oct 2016.

The Bedrooms

Casa Allué has 7 en suite bedrooms, 4 with double beds, one with twin beds and 2 individual rooms. We have made sure the bedrooms are spacious with luxury en suite bathrooms and thermostatic rain showers. The antique beds are comfortable with new quality mattresses, and the luxurious curtains and rugs give a rustic and homely feel.

All rooms have mountain views with plenty of natural light, four have stone balconies, perfect for star gazing, as the night skies here are breathtaking. Each room is named after the wildlife that abounds outside our door.

Whilst the restoration is true to the traditions of the area, and the age of the house, we have also endeavoured to include some modern amenities. We have geothermal underfloor heating throughout and a hydro massage bath to soothe any aching limbs.
The balconies and windows are double glazed and each has an integral fly screen, ideal to enjoy a gentle breeze on warm evenings.

"Spotlessly clean, and furnished carefully to suit the building, but with modern bathrooms and fantastic views from every window."

Del & Martyn. Banbury June 2015.

" It far exceeded what I was expecting. The meals they provided were so fresh and awesome (I hope there is a blog or cookbook coming with the recipes soon!) The location is stunning and the farmhouse renovation has been done so well."

Space to Spread Out

We have a small gymnasium below a spectacular beamed roof, a place to stretch out as well as tone up.  On the floor below is our large class room where lectures and presentations take place.
Breakfasts and evening meals are served in our spacious dining room with open views down the valley. Across the courtyard is the library and sitting room, where we have plenty of tourist information as well as a good choice in recreational reading. In both areas WiFi is available.

For the benefit of everyone we are a strictly a non-smoking house.

The Meals

All the meals are prepared by hand in our spacious kitchen. The focus is on well balanced diets, with fresh ingredients from our own vegetable patch or sourced locally.
Breakfast is a nutritious continental buffet style with plenty of cereals, fruit, and Lucy's home baked bread. Evening meals are three course with wine and coffee, unless a light supper is part of the days itinerary. Our picnic lunches will keep you going all day!
If you are allergic to certain ingredients or have special dietary needs we will do our best to meet your requirements, provided that you advise us in advance.

We serve only local wine from the Somontano region of Aragon.
The water here is drinkable and comes from the mountain spring. We have a font in the entrance hall where you can fill up whenever you want. We also have a range of herbal infusions, normal tea and coffee, all of which are available 24/7.

Full Board includes all meals at the farmhouse, picnics and drinks. On our Special Interest and Activity Holidays restaurant meals are also included.

We are very happy to prepare evening meals and picnics for B&B guests. Please ask for prices at the time of booking.

Please note this is strictly a non-smoking house.

"The bedroom had a small balcony with amazing views, all very new & modern but also with antique furniture which added to the atmosphere of the renovated farmhouse."

The Village

Our Bed and Breakfast is in the sleepy farming hamlet of Albella, situated in the unspoilt valley of the river Ara. Albella is known locally for the 16th century chapel of Saint Urbez and the miracles that were performed here.  A very gentle short walk takes you to the chapel. There is also a footpath from our door that follows the pilgrim trail of San Urbez towards the mountains of the Sierra de Guara, a beautiful walk that can be adapted to a day hike, circular route back to our house (there are more gentle walking options from the house).

The valley is remarkably green due to its central position in the Pyrenees where we benefit from the perfect balance between the hot Mediterranean and cooler Atlantic climate.

From the house you can enjoy wide open views of the Pyrenees; meadows, mountains and woods stretch out before you.  Sometimes the silence is broken with the soothing bells of the village sheep.  At night, the only thing you will see from your bedroom is the amazing starlit sky as there is no light pollution.

We love nature and feel very privileged to live where we do. Summer visitors here include bee eaters, hoopoe and golden oriole, a beautiful bird with an unmistakable song.  Griffon vultures and Eygyption vultures soar above us and we hear the barks of the Roe deer in the woods at the bottom of the garden.
Depending on the time of year you will also see wild boar, red squirrels, red kites, green and pied woodpeckers and much more, and all in our grounds.

Join us in the quiet haven of Casa Allué, where we are surrounded by nature.
