Come and stay with us on our Exclusive Yoga Meditation and Wellness Retreat and enjoy a week with spectacular scenery, gentle walks, laughter and great vegetarian food. We are  Simon and Lucy, your hosts, and we live in a tiny hamlet, in a quiet valley in the central Spanish Pyrenees, within the Pyrenees Geopark. Here we are surrounded by nature, in the morning you wake up to inspirational mountain views - all from your own private room, with luxury ensuite bathroom - and at night you sleep under skies bursting with stars, as we have no light pollution. 

We have hand-picked a multidisciplinary team for this week-long Exclusive Yoga Meditation and Wellness Retreat. Julia Ventham is our meditation facilitator, Tej Partap Kaur (Tej) our Kundalini yoga teacher, and our dietary specialist is Amanda Spring.

Julia is with us at the farmhouse 24/7, and accompanies us on the excursions, she is there for you on an individual basis, whatever your needs. She also writes regular posts which you can read here.

Wellness is an active process of becoming aware of and making choices toward a healthy and fulfilling life. On this retreat week, we help you achieve this through Yoga, meditation and diet. Our small group size (maximum 5) means this is an exclusive retreat.

Our Yoga Meditation and Wellness Retreat includes full board at our 17th century farmhouse,  all tuition and excursions. No single supplement. Flights not included.
We can provide transfers from Zaragoza airport for the Ryan Air flight from London Stansted, or Zaragoza train station for trains from Barcelona or Madrid for an additional charge of €60 per person return. From Zaragoza it is around two hours to our base in the Pyrenees. For more information see Getting Here.

Yoga Meditation and Wellness Retreat Itinerary

The itinerary below gives an idea of what we will be doing during a typical week on our Yoga Meditation and Wellness Retreat.

Our Retreat is a mix of practical workshops and excursions. Every morning we have a pre-breakfast session of Vini yoga, or Vinyasa yoga with a meditation (except Wednesday when we have a longer Kundalini yoga session before breakfast).

We also practice meditation on our excursions. The sessions are approx 15 minute slots, led by Julia, and chosen at an appropriate place when we are out walking.

Optional Extras

We have two optional extras that are available in an evening during the week.

• A one to one with nutritionist Amanda Spring . It is most important that guests complete in advance of the retreat 5 days of completed food diaries. €45/approx 1 hour (min 2 people needed)

• Full body massage: Local masseuse Christina will come to the house and give a full body massage for €45/approx 1 hour (min 2 people needed).

The decision of exactly where we go on a particular day will be decided at the time, and it will depend on the weather. See our Pyrenees Weather Forecast for a better idea of what to expect and what to pack (we do send a recommended kit list when you book).

We carefully prepare healthy vegetarian meals and picnic lunches, all using our own organic produce or locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. Refreshments and infusions are available all day long at no extra charge.
We recommend an alcohol free week but this an individual choice. For those who enjoy a glass of wine we serve wine from our local region, Somontano.

DAY 1 Yoga Meditation and Wellness Retreat: Saturday

• Arrival at Casa Allué, Albella. A welcome drink and an opportunity to meet Simon and Lucy, your hosts. After our evening meal we will have a chat about the program for the week ahead.

DAY 2 Yoga Meditation and Wellness Retreat: Sunday

• This morning we meet Julia and start the day with Yoga and stretching. Julia will also give a basic introduction to meditation.
• After breakfast we will go for local walk where we will learn about the area, the history, the culture and the wildlife. At a suitable place we will take time for a brief meditation.
• After lunch there is time for everyone to relax, take a book from the library, chat or go for a stroll.  In the evening there will be a second yoga class with Julia.
• A light supper.

DAY 3 Yoga Meditation and Wellness Retreat: Monday

• Pre-breakfast Yoga and meditation led by Julia.
• After breakfast we go to the beautiful canyon of Añisclo, one of the deepest limestone canyons in Europe.
• Here we will  see the chapel of San Urbez built into the cliff face.
• We will go for a walk alongside the river bellos where there are  several beautiful spots to sit and relax on the smooth rocks.
• We practice meditation, do respiratory exercises and learn visualisation techniques in our outside workshops.
• Our picnic lunch will be in this serene place before returning to Albella.
• Back at the farmhouse we meet Tej, our Kundalin yoga teacher, and have an afternoon Yoga class with her.
• There will be time to relax before our evening meal.

DAY 4 Yoga Meditation and Wellness Retreat: Tuesday

• Pre-breakfast Yoga and meditation led by Julia.
• After breakfast we have a workshop on raw food including Julia's legendary power balls! Some foods are better eaten raw to preserve the essential food enzymes and other benefits that can bee destroyed when cooked. We will show some creative and easy ways to enjoy raw food.
• Afternoon sound meditation workshop. Sound has been used as a healing or calming tool for thousands of years.
• In the evening we have the option to stroll down to the small chapel in Albella to complete the story of San Urbez . We take a privileged look inside and learn a little of the history of the chapel and the fabled miracles. Before we leave we will take a moment to watch the mountains as they change colour with the last rays of sun.
• After dinner, guests have the option to watch an enlightening documentary about meditation.

DAY 5 Yoga Meditation and Wellness Retreat: Wednesday

• Early Kundalini yoga class with Tej.
• After breakfast we head off for an excursion to a legendary mountain lake in a spectacular setting. After driving up a forest track, we walk through woods, mountain meadows and ancient glacial moraines, before arriving at the lake. This is one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in the central Pyrenees.
• We will have a relaxing picnic lunch on the grass by the lake.
• After lunch, surrounded by mountains, in peace and harmony with nature, we will take our time to practice some of the techniques we have learnt. Finally we will watch the sun slowly dip behind the surrounding mountains.
• Return to Albella for dinner.

DAY 6 Yoga Meditation and Wellness Retreat: Thursday

• Pre breakfast yoga and meditation led by Julia.
• After breakfast we take the short drive to explore the medieval town of Ainsa. We will have time to wander the cobbled streets and take in the panoramic mountain views from the old castle.
• After refreshments in the arched plaza we head to the local spa in a beautifully renovated old monastery. Refreshed and pampered we return to Albella for lunch.
• This afternoon we have a workshop on Chakra Meditation. The 7 Chakras are the energy centers in our body through which energy flows. Blocked energy in our 7 Chakras can often lead to illness so it's important to understand what each Chakra represents and what we can do to keep this energy flowing freely.
• A light supper.

DAY 7 Yoga Meditation and Wellness Retreat: Friday

• Pre breakfast yoga and meditation led by Julia.
• After breakfast we go to the west side of the Ordesa National Park. We start by driving through the dramatic gorge in the Valle de Bujaruelo before arriving at the medieval bridge of San Nicolás de Bujaruelo. From here we walk along the babbling river Ara. The flowers, mountain streams, butterflies and birds allow us to connect with nature, whilst we walk and meditate.
• After our picnic we will talk about what we have learnt during the week.
• On the way home we will make a short stop to walk around the medieval village of Torla.
• In the afternoon we have our final yoga class with Tej.
• After dinner together, Tej will relax us all with a chant before bedtime.

DAY 8 Yoga Meditation and Wellness Retreat: Saturday

• The timetable after breakfast is flexible, depending on departure times. A light lunch or a picnic is available.
