Yoga Meditation Retreat Spain

We are very lucky that we live all year round in a tiny farming hamlet in the central Spanish Pyrenees, close to the Ordesa National Park. A place where you can disconnect completely, unspoilt and still undiscovered.

There can be few better locations to host a Yoga and Walking Holiday.

We held our first Yoga and Walking Holiday in 2016 and we have been offering this retreat week every year since.

Our winning formula is based not only on our location but the fact we bring together a multi-disciplinary team, giving our guests every opportunity to achieve wellness (the dynamic process of change and growth, a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being).

Julia is an amazing person, always calm and positive, with a genuine warmth and exuberance for life. We met when she first arrived in the Pyrenees, having made an extraordinary journey by foot from England.

The five elements that make up our Yoga and Walking Holiday are Yoga, Meditation, Walking, Diet and a little Pampering.

Meditation

A girl meditating in a field on our Yoga Meditation Retreat SpainJulia is our meditation facilitator. Julia discovered meditation after a health crisis 15 years ago and soon realised the positive effects meditation was having, not only on her health but also on her general well-being. Julia went on to deepen her Spiritual practice in London, training in healing, energy work, as well as different meditation techniques.

She has run many group courses in the UK as well as offering healing and meditation tuition on an individual basis in both England and Spain.

“Julia is such an inspiration in so many ways, leading the daily yoga and meditation sessions, sharing her knowledge of complimentary and holistic therapies for physical and mental well being, willingly offering guidance and advice, and simply listening.” Eryl – July 2016

Yoga

There are three Hatha yoga classes during the week, in addition to the daily Vinyasa flows and Viniyoga.
Our guests love these classes which are held outside, within walking distance from the house. This added a different dimension and certainly inspired everyone.

“Carmen was our Kundalini Yoga instructor for the week, a very warm, gentle & beautiful lady, I had never experienced this type of yoga before but you really do feel energised & free afterwards.”
Lesley – July 2016

Walking

A group walking in the Ordesa National Park on Yoga Meditation Retreat SpainOur walks explore the area around the farmhouse as well as the National Park Of Ordesa. There is nothing too strenuous.
Living in one of the most beautiful and dramatic places in Europe means whatever the walk, we were surrounded by breathtaking scenery.

We include meditation on the walks. There is something truly special about meditating by a river, with only the sound of the water and the distant bells from the sheep.

Local Spanish mountain guides join us. They provided colourful local knowledge and bring the mountains and trails to life with stories and anecdotes.

Taking our shoes and socks off, connecting with the earth, whilst we gaze at the geological wonders of this area is an unforgettable experience for may guests.

“The sense of wellbeing on this trip is magical, you seem to float the whole time. Surrounded by superb scenery from when you wake until you go to sleep.” Steve – July 2016

Diet and Health

A raw food workshop at Casa Allué on Yoga Meditation Retreat SpainDiet and health is an important element within the week.

We take great care in the preparation of the vegetarian meals and picnic lunches, all using our own organic produce, or locally sourced seasonal ingredients.

We now have a raw food workshop which is great fun. This is held in our catering kitchen from where we run our Cooking and Walking Holidays.

“The food was delicious, it was mainly vegetarian & who would of thought you could have such a variety of meals, all explained to us as they were served & presented like a 5* restaurant, the fresh produce was sourced locally although mostly from the allotment outside.” Steve – July 2016

We also have a session with dietary specialist, Amanda Spring.

“I had a 1-2-1 Nutrition Consultation with Amanda who truly was an angel, she really listened to everything I said and she has set me on a path of enlightenment and healthy living, what a wonderful lady.” Lesley – July 2016

We recommend an alcohol free week but this an individual choice. For those who enjoy a glass of wine we serve wine from our local region, Somontano. In addition refreshments and infusions are available all day long at no extra charge.

Pampering

A little pampering proved to be the icing on the cake – vegetarian of course (courgette and chocolate)!
As an optional extra local masseuse Christina comes to the house to give a full body massage. Testament to her skills, guests often choose to have more than one massage during the week.

I leave one of our guests to sum up our Yoga and Walking Holiday….

“I personally went to this retreat feeling exhausted, in a low mood, anxious & many other emotions, when I left I felt exhilarated, high on life, free, happy, floating, calm and excited to take back home what I had learnt.” Lesley – July 2016
