About Us
Meet Your Hosts
We are the Woollons family…
Simon, Lucy, Penny and Sofi. In 2007 we made a life changing move to the beautiful Spanish Pyrenees, in the autonomous region of Aragon.
An abandoned farmhouse in the tiny hamlet of Albella became home. Today, the same farmhouse has been lovingly restored, and is both our family home, and the base for our Holiday business, Aragon Active. It is a home we share gladly, and which comes to life when you arrive.

Sustainable Tourism
Our commitment to local people, culture and the environment was recognised when we were awarded a grant under a European initiative for the preservation of rural communities.
Food with flare!
Our delicious meals are prepared with love and great care by us.
In season vegetables come from our own organic veg garden, and Lucy’s home-made bread is famous!
Green Philosophy
From our Responsible Travel Initiatives, to our geothermal heating and our rainwater harvesting, we are passionate about conservation and the preservation of the environment.
Come as a guest, leave as a friend
“By the end of the week, my wife and I felt that we had spent this time with Simon, Lucy and their daughters as friends or family, and not as clients. We both want to go back sometime and try one of their other holidays.”
Ross & Maria. New York. April 2017

Stay in Comfort
During our 5 year renovation project we tried to think of everything for your comfort and enjoyment, without losing the feel of a traditional Pyrenean farmhouse.
“The accommodation was superb, away from mass tourism in the beautifully renovated 17th century farmhouse.” Droplaug – Walking Holiday 2018
Family Atmosphere
A very warm welcome awaits all our guests. In fact, from the moment you arrive we welcome you as friends.
During your stay our house is your home, and we encourage all our guests to treat it as such. Don’t be surprised if Penny or Sofi pop into the salon to say hi, tell you about their day or some local gossip!
Personal touch
We love what we do, which shows in the unique personal service we offer, and our attention to detail when planning the itineraries, choosing our guides and finding our specialist tutors for each of our Small Group Holidays. We care about your comfort and your stay. We want our holiday to be the one you remember.
Fully Inclusive
Your holiday includes everything: afternoon tea, pre-dinner drinks, 3 course meals, carefully selected local wine, coffee, infusions, breakfasts and lunches. Even restaurant meals and refreshments when you are out. Therefore, you only need to bring cash to buy gifts, make a voluntary donation, or to tip one of our guides.
Unique Setting
The tiny farming hamlet of Albella is a magical place to live. The farmhouse is surrounded by nature. We have everything, geology, history, culture and customs, flora and fauna. In fact, we live in the UNESCO Geopark of Sobrabre, a site of geological interest. This used to be the beach!!
Responsible Travel
We take our environmental and social responsibility very seriously. From restoration work to direct financial support for local projects. Our love of nature goes hand in hand with our commitment to environmental issues.
