Meet Your Hosts
We are the Woollons family…
Simon, Lucy, Penny and Sofi. In 2007 we made a life changing move to the beautiful Spanish Pyrenees, in the autonomous region of Aragon.
An abandoned farmhouse in the tiny hamlet of Albella became home. Today, the same farmhouse has been lovingly restored, and is both our family home, and the base for our Holiday business, Aragon Active. It is a home we share gladly, and which comes to life when you arrive.
Our commitment to local people, culture and the environment was recognised when we were awarded a grant under a European initiative for the preservation of rural communities.
Food with flare!
Our delicious meals are prepared with love and great care by us.
In season vegetables come from our own organic veg garden, and Lucy’s home-made bread is famous!
Come as a guest, leave as a friend
“By the end of the week, my wife and I felt that we had spent this time with Simon, Lucy and their daughters as friends or family, and not as clients. We both want to go back sometime and try one of their other holidays.”
Ross & Maria. New York. April 2017
Stay in Comfort
During our 5 year renovation project we tried to think of everything for your comfort and enjoyment, without losing the feel of a traditional Pyrenean farmhouse.
“The accommodation was superb, away from mass tourism in the beautifully renovated 17th century farmhouse.” Droplaug – Walking Holiday 2018
A very warm welcome awaits all our guests. In fact, from the moment you arrive we welcome you as friends.
During your stay our house is your home, and we encourage all our guests to treat it as such. Don’t be surprised if Penny or Sofi pop into the salon to say hi, tell you about their day or some local gossip!
We love what we do, which shows in the unique personal service we offer, and our attention to detail when planning the itineraries, choosing our guides and finding our specialist tutors for each of our Small Group Holidays. We care about your comfort and your stay. We want our holiday to be the one you remember.
Your holiday includes everything: afternoon tea, pre-dinner drinks, 3 course meals, carefully selected local wine, coffee, infusions, breakfasts and lunches. Even restaurant meals and refreshments when you are out. Therefore, you only need to bring cash to buy gifts, make a voluntary donation, or to tip one of our guides.
The tiny farming hamlet of Albella is a magical place to live. The farmhouse is surrounded by nature. We have everything, geology, history, culture and customs, flora and fauna. In fact, we live in the UNESCO Geopark of Sobrabre, a site of geological interest. This used to be the beach!!
We take our environmental and social responsibility very seriously. From restoration work to direct financial support for local projects. Our love of nature goes hand in hand with our commitment to environmental issues.

Our guest room, with it's beautiful outlook, was furnished with antiques befitting the environment, and the en suite bathroom had ultra-modern fixtures, such as an amazing walk-in rain shower, beautiful sink and vanity, and a heated towel rack. As amazing as the house is, the heart and soul of Casa Allué is provided by Lucy and Simon themselves. Their hospitality and friendship during our stay made it hard for us to leave. From making sure we had everything we needed in the room, to preparing lovely meals (breakfast, pack lunch, and dinner). Their generosity will remain with us for years to come.
Our holiday was everything we had hoped for and more! Lucy, Simon, Penny and Sofi were our gracious hosts for 6 days, and we can't remember when we've enjoyed ourselves more. What a treat to experience their craftsmanship in turning this place into a truly one-of-a-kind!
One of the most memorable holidays! The warmest hosts, the delicious food, the stunning mountains and the best sleep I've had in a long time.
The hosts Lucy and Simon went out of their way to make our stay pleasant, everything had a personal touch. Commitment to healthy food, lots of it sourced from their own garden/produce, was also something we really relished. We are quite seasoned, and probably difficult, travelers; this gem comes with our warmest recommendations.
The hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful and make you feel like part of the family - loved the experience and looking to come back! Special thanks for the outstanding food!
Lucy and Simon are perfect hosts, sharing their love and knowledge of the area and how you can experience it, from walking to wildlife, food to photography.
Its all too brilliant. Lucy and Simon have something special, both in their location but also as hosts, they just get everything right.
The farmhouse is a beautiful home that Lucy and Simon have painstakingly restored. It has charm, character, history and modern conveniences all in one.....I highly recommend the food - dinner was fantastic and the picnic lunches are great.
Thank you for a fantastic week – the perfect combination of activities, weather & guests, combined with the hospitality of Lucy & Simon and the cabaret skills of Penny & Sofi make this a break I’ll remember for a longtime.
What a week it has been. Everything exceeded my expectations – location, food, company and most of all our hosts – Lucy, Simon, Penny & Sofi. Thank you so much for sharing your home and knowledge and joy in this wonderful house you have built. I will always remember this special time.
