Just Some of Our Reviews on this Holiday…
“Jonathan (our running guide) has been leading week-long trail running holidays in the Spanish Pyrenees for the last 4 years, building up a selection of top-notch routes.
The routes explore the incredible geology of the area and take in no end of soaring cliffs, deep-cut canyons and – my favourite – alpine plains. “
Joel. Australia. Trail Running Holiday September 2019
“I visited Casa Allue during October, 2018 for the Trail Running holiday and have been recommending it to everybody I know since! My wife booked the holiday for me as birthday gift so I traveled alone and joined a few other friendly runners for the week. The trip really exceeded my expectations…I was overwhelmed by the beauty of the area and humbled by all of the history I learned along the way. I loved running through all the small villages (some occupied while others are still abandoned), through and over canyons, visiting ancient caves of the indigenous and even climbing to the top of Comodoto.”
Patrick. Australia. Trail Running Holiday October 2018
“ We went on a weeks break to this friendly and welcoming retreat. The food was wonderful, the location peaceful and the walks and runs took the groups through some of the most beautiful countryside we have seen in our travels. Most definitely a holiday we would recommend to anyone who loves the outdoors. To add to the experience Simon and Lucy are great hosts and so well informed on the history and geology of the area.
The guides selected to accompany us on our walks/runs where great and answered all questions put to them with great knowledge and enthusiasm. A great holiday enjoyed with wonderful company.”
Brian & Tia. Abu Dhabi. Trail Running Holiday September 2017
“I stayed at Casa Allué recently for a trail running holiday and I can honestly say it was one of the best trips I have taken. The location is stunning and the farmhouse renovation has been done so well. It far exceeded what I was expecting.
Simon and Lucy provided our running group with fantastic guides who were able to provide both the local knowledge of the Pyrenees mountains and years of experience of trail running. We were treated to fantastic runs with simply stunning views every day. I’m struggling to pick any one run as the best one, as each one had something a bit special. The word “WOW” was used a lot!
If you like trail running, you’ll love this holiday. Hill training is good idea prior, but the guides were able to cater for different levels of fitness and pace without any issues.
Not only were local guides provided, but we ate a lot of locally produced food during the holiday. Simon and Lucy grew a lot of the veg we were eating, so fresh it was picked less than an hour before we were eating it. Just fantastic! (I hope there is a blog or cookbook coming with the recipes soon!).
It was clear from the renovation carried out just how much the hosts cared for the environmental impact, reusing what materials they could.
This holiday far exceeded what I was expecting in a trail running holiday. Our group was so well looked after and we were treated to some fantastic runs in the Pyrenees mountains. I will be back for sure.”
